Langonnet

Langonnet ( Breton: Langoned ) is a commune with 1905 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Morbihan in the Brittany region. It belongs to the Local Government Association Pays du Roi Morvan.

Geography

Langonnet is located in the northwest of the department of Morbihan on the border with the department of Cotes -d'Armor and belongs to the Pays du roi Morvan.

Neighboring communities are located in the department of Côtes- d'Armor communities Tréogan, Plévin and Paule in the north and Glomel in the northeast, Plouray in the east, in the southeast Priziac, Faouët in the south and Le Saint and Gourin in the West.

The town itself is situated on the D121. The major routes are the - west of the town leading past - D769 Saint-Pol -de- Léon to Lorient and the N164 in the North.

The most important waters are the rivers Ellé and Langonnet and Bach Le Moulin du Doc. The Ellé and the Moulin du Doc simultaneously form part of the municipal boundary. There is a dam in the municipality.

Demographics

History

The municipality belongs to the historic region of Brittany Kernev (Fr. Cornwall ) and within this region to region Bro Chtou (French Chtou ) and shares his story. From 1793 until its dissolution in 1801 was Langonnet chief town of a canton own. Since then, she is assigned to the Canton Gourin.
