Lari White
Lari White ( born May 13, 1965 in Dunedin, Florida) is an American country music singer and songwriter. In appearance Occasionally it occurs as an actress and producer.
Lari sang as a child with parents and siblings in the gospel group White Family Singers. She also played guitar and piano. Also, by the loss of a little finger she was not discouraged. At the University of Miami, she studied with a scholarship music technology. She played in bands and worked as a backup singer and sang advertising jingles.
In 1988, she moved to Nashville after she won the talent contest You Can Be A Star at the local television station TNN ( The Nashville Network). At the Capitol label was a single, Flying Above the Rain, produced, but was not too successful. Then she got at a music publishing company a job as a songwriter. With regular appearances she tried to gain a foothold in the local music scene.
Career
1991 Rodney Crowell became aware of the young talent and offered her a job as a backup singer in his band. Their long years of drought had ended. Crowell also gave her a record deal with RCA in 1993 and produced their first album, Lead Me Not. Three uncoupled singles made it but only up in the rear ranks of the top 100. Their next album, Wishes was successful. Three from uncoupled singles reached the Top 10 on the country charts: That's My Baby, Now I Know (1994) and That's How You Know ( When You're in Love ) ( 1995). In May 1995, she was able to take for the CD Wishes her first Gold award in reception. After their third album Do not Fence With Me (1996 ) could not meet the expectations, she lost her recording contract.
In 1997 she came to the smaller Lyric Street label. A year later she had a Top 20 hit with the decoupled from the eponymous label single Steppin 'Stone. But the real success eluded her here. Their next album, Green Eyed Soul, was produced in 2004 on their own in their home studio. It contained, in contrast to its predecessors primarily music a bit of soul and pop. Followed in 2007 by the album My First Affair with Broadway musicals and songs.
White has also made a name as a producer since the late 1990s. So she was responsible for, among others, the album Let Them Be Little (2005) by Billy Dean and White Trash With Money by Toby Keith.
In addition to her musical career, White also operated as an actress. So it seemed, for example, in the resulting 2000 Hollywood movie Cast Away - Lost alongside Tom Hanks in a small supporting role as an artist Bettina Peterson.
