Lars-Anders Wahlgren

Lars -Anders Wahlgren ( born August 24, 1966 in Lund ) is a former Swedish tennis player.

Life

Wahlgren began playing at the age of eight years of tennis and was led in 1982 to eighth position of the Swedish juniors. After he became professional in 1985, he won his first Challenger tournament the following year in Athens. The final victory against the Germans Hans -Dieter bag should remain his only individual title. He was more successful in the following years in the doubles competition, from 1987 until 1995, he won at the side of different partners twelve doubles titles on the Challenger Tour.

His best individual result on the ATP tour was in the finals at the indoor tournament in Sydney. On the way to the final he beat the number three at Carl -Uwe Steeb set as well as the defending Slobodan Živojinović. However, in the match against Ivan Lendl clear he lost in three sets, in which he scored only five game wins. On the ATP Tour Wahlgren twice reached the final in Kuala Lumpur, but was defeated with his partner in each case against the Dutch Jacco Eltingh and Paul Haarhuis.

Its highest listing in the tennis world ranking he reached in 1990 with position 66 in the singles and 1995 with position 86 in doubles. His best individual result at a Grand Slam tournament was reaching the third round at the Australian Open in 1990 and 1992 when he was off a seeded player Brad Gilbert. In the doubles competition, he reached the Australian Open 1995 on the side of Ola Kristiansson the third round.

Wahlgren played in November 2001, his last match at the Challenger tournament in Caracas.

Since 2013 he is Teamchep the Swedish Fed Cup team.
