Lars Roberg

Lars Roberg ( born January 4, 1664 Stockholm, † May 21, 1742 in Uppsala ) was a Swedish physician.

Life and work

He was the son of the royal apothecary Daniel Roberg.

Lars Roberg studied from 1675 at the University of Uppsala. During a trip in 1680 to Germany, France and England, he studied at Wittenberg and suffering. In Leiden he was in 1693 received his doctorate of medicine.

He was from 1697 to 1740 professor of medicine at the University of Uppsala. In 1708 he founded the Academicum Nosocomium, later Academic Hospital of Uppsala.

His pupils were, inter alia, Carl Linnaeus and Peter Artedi.
