Unnerstall (2011)

Lars Unnerstall ( born July 20, 1990 in Ibbenbüren ) is a German football goalkeeper who currently stands at FC Schalke 04 under contract, but playing on loan at FC Aarau.

Clubs

Unnerstall began at the age of three years at SV Uffeln playing football before he moved over the stopover Green-White Steinbeck in 2005 in the youth department of Preußen Münster. After three years in Münster, he joined the FC Schalke 04, in which he played a season for the U-19 team and was used from 2009 to the second team.

For the 2011/12 season named coach Ralf Rangnick Unnerstall the new number 2 behind the goalkeeper Ralf ferryman. Then Unnerstall was on 31 July 2011 in the first round of the DFB Cup against FC Teningen his debut in the first team. Beginning of October 2011 Unnerstalls was extended to June 2012 ongoing contract early by one year. 15 October 2011 (9th Round ) he came in the 1-2 home defeat against 1 FC Kaiserslautern as a substitute for his pro debut after ferryman had been sent off in 28 minutes. His first Bundesliga game over the full season completed Unnerstall on the next match day 1-0 victory over Bayer 04 Leverkusen. Despite the commitment of the experienced Timo Hildebrand in response to injury, ferryman Unnerstall prevailed as number 1. August 3, 2012 Unnerstalls contract was again extended by a further three years until 30 June 2015. However, he lost his place for a short time as a result of injury, so that Hildebrand took his place between the posts. Unnerstall only returned in goal after turn Hildebrand injured. Unnerstall denied 7 October 2011 his first junior match for the German U-20 national team, when he was a substitute in a 2-0 home victory over the Swiss selection for the second half for Niclas Heimann. On 31 August 2011, he was first nominated for the U- 21 team, but did not play.
