Lauri Ylönen

Lauri Ylönen John ( born April 23, 1979 in Helsinki) is a singer and frontman of the Finnish band The Rasmus.

Biography

Early years

With five years Lauri Ylönen learned to play the piano. He later learned to play guitar and drums. In elementary school, he met Eero Heinonen know ( later bassist of The Rasmus ).

The Rasmus

In the early 1990s met Ylönen and Heinonen on the Suutarila High School Pauli Rantasalmi and Janne Heiskanen. In 1994, Ylönen with Eero Heinonen ( bass) Pauli Rantasalmi (guitar), and Janne Heiskanen (drums ) the project The Rasmus (then called themselves first "Sputnik ", then " Anttila " and finally " Rasmus "). Your first appearances they had in 1994 in their school. Ylönen is the lead singer and composer of the band. Because of the music he dropped out of school. With 15 years Ylönen then signed her first record contract for his band. After the release of three albums, Janne Heiskanen, left the band in 1998, and Aki Hakala became the new drummer for The Rasmus. In the same year she moved from Warner Music Finland to Playground Music Scandinavia.

Solo project

In November 2010, the Finnish media vermeldeten Ylönens announcement to release a solo album. His first solo album New World was released on March 30, 2011. The first single Heavy appeared on the 25th of February.

Private

Lauri Ylönen is in a relationship with Finnish singer Paula Vesala ( PMMP ) and has a son.
