Laurie Bird

Laurie Bird ( born September 26, 1953, Long Iceland, New York, † June 15, 1979 in New York City ) was an American actress and photographer.

Bird was three years old when her mother died. Because her father worked all day, she learned early to stand on its own.

Your acquaintance with director Monte Hellman she owed a role in the film Asphalt Race ( 1971). Hellman saw her only as a " prototype " for the film character of the girl and after unsuccessful auditions he put the inexperienced Laurie Bird for yourself. It was followed by another role, alongside other actors from asphalt racing, in Hellman's film Cockfighters (1974 ), for which it was used as a stand photographer. After a small role under the name Lauri Bird in The City EUR sufferers, she gave up acting and devoted himself to photography.

In July 1975, she met Art Garfunkel know. The two were a couple. On the cover of Garfunkel's album Breakaway and partly on the back of Scissors Cut Laurie Bird is seen. The cover of Watermark was photographed by her.

On 15 June 1979, Laurie Bird apartment took in Art Garfunkel's life. Her death is said to have greatly added Garfunkel.
