Law of Vatican City
The right of the Vatican City is the sum judicially enforceable social norms in the State of Vatican City. It is to be distinguished from canon law. It is different from the right of Italy leans heavily modified to take account of this and therefore belongs to the Roman legal system.
Organisation of justice
The courts of the Vatican City State make sure the judiciary in the Vatican City. (It.: Tribunali dello Stato della Città del Vaticano ) In 1929, the Court of the Vatican State was built. In the Vatican State since November 21, 1987, there are four independent but associated dishes, this includes the Supreme Court of the Vatican City, the Court of Appeal of the Vatican City, the Court of the Vatican City and the single judge of the Vatican City. All legal institutions judge on behalf of the Pope, who represents the head of state of Vatican City State.
Supreme Court of the Vatican City State
In the uppermost and last instance is the Court of Cassation of Vatican City State (it.: Court of Cassation dello Stato della Città del Vaticano ). It is staffed by three judges, President is ex officio the prefect of the Apostolic Signatura (since 2008, when Raymond Leo Cardinal Burke).
Court of Appeal
In order of dishes follows in third place, the Court of Appeal (Court of Appeal ) of Vatican City State (it Corte di Apello dello Stato Città del Vaticano ). In this court six judges operate. It is headed by a president since December 10, 2012 Monsignor Pio Vito Pinto has been appointed to this position, he is also Dean of the Roman Rota.

The lowest trial court of Vatican City are the single judge of Vatican City State (it.: Giudice Unico dello Stato della Città del Vaticano ), this facility is led by Professor Piero Antonio Bonnet since 2009.
