Layne Ulmer

Layne Ulmer ( born September 14, 1980 in North Battleford, Saskatchewan ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who for Asiago in the Italian Serie A1 plays on the position of the center since 2009.

Career

Ulmer, who was selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 1999 in the seventh round at 209th position of the Ottawa Senators, played in his junior time between 1997 and 2001 for the Swift Current Broncos of the Western Hockey League.

For the 2001/02 season Ulmer then moved into the professional and first ran on in the East Coast Hockey League. Since it had the Ottawa Senators failed to bring him in the two years since the Draft the contract is signed, he was changed in the organization of the New York Rangers pre-season as a free agent. For this, he played in the 2003 /04 his only play in the National Hockey League.

In summer 2006, Ulmer joined the Finnish SM- liiga for TPS Turku. In the 2007 /08 season he played for the Frankfurt Lions of the DEL, for the following season, he signed a one year contract at the Graz 99ers of the Austrian Hockey League. Since 2009 he is at Asiago under contract.
