Lazare Gianessi

Lazare Gianessi ( born November 9, 1925 in Aniche / North; † August 11, 2009 in Concarneau ) was a French football player of Italian origin.

Club career

The son of an Italian miner began as an attacker in the youth teams of CS Avion and RC Lens, then played from 1946 to the amateur club Olympique Saint- Quentin and was founded in 1949 by Erstdivisionär CO Roubaix - Tourcoing committed, who had won two years earlier, surprising the French league title. On the advice of the player coach of CORT, goalkeeper Julien Darui, Lazare Gianessi retrained to a more defensive position and played at right-back or outer rotor.

The maneuverability and equipped with good ball player technology sobriety helped him from the end of 1952 to a regular place in the national team. Since Roubaix - Tourcoing but at most graduated in these years in the mid-table of the league - an eighth place in the season 1951/52, was the best placement - Gianessi changed at the beginning of the season 1953/54, to Erstligaaufsteiger AS Monaco. Almost one and a half years later interrupted a severe and protracted lung disease, the career of the only 29 -year-olds. Only further three and a half years later he was so far recovered that he could lace up the football boots again. Whether he be read on the website of the French Federation, nor ever actually played one year at RC Lens and CO Roubaix - Tourcoing, is questionable: at least in Division 1 he was no longer there to use. However, he was still active after 1958 as player-coach with the Breton club amateur l' Hermione Concarneau, where he ended his career. In Concarneau he is 83 years old, also died.

In the National Team

Gianessi played between October 1952 and June 1954 a total of 14 caps for the Équipe Tricolore. He made his debut in the 3-1 via the West German national team. He also belonged to the French squad at the 1954 World Cup in Switzerland and came in two matches of France used. Together with Roger Marche Stade Reims he made in this circuit an experienced defender pair. He was also used in an unofficial international match, the Dutch professional footballer Watersnoodwedstrijd against on 12 March 1953.
