Le Fjord-du-Saguenay Regional County Municipality

Le Fjord -du -Saguenay is a regional county municipality (French municipalité régional du comté, MRC ) in the Canadian province of Quebec.

It is located in the administrative region of Saguenay -Lac -Saint -Jean and consists of 16 subordinate administrative units ( 13 municipalities and three unincorporated areas). The MRC was established on 1 January 1983. On 18 February 2002 the city of Saguenay was formed by union of several towns and cities, and was released from the MRC. The main town is Saguenay (although this city itself does not belong ). The population is 21,079 and the area of ​​39051.2 km ², which corresponds to a population density of 0.5 inhabitants per km ².
