Leap of Faith (Original Title: Leap of Faith ) is an American comedy film from the year 1992 was directed by Richard Pearce, the screenplay was written by Janus Cercone. . The film starred Steve Martin and Debra Winger.

Action

Jonas Nightengale is the leader and star of a traveling troupe, which organizes shows, during which spiritual healing are simulated and money is collected. At the beginning of the film, the bus is stopped by a traffic policeman. Nightengale gets from his colleague Jane Larson, who help him by radio tips, fake extensive knowledge of the life of police officers. Instead of a criminal slip Nightengale gets a donation.

The troops reached the small town of Rust Water in Kansas, where shows are organized. The Sheriff Will Braverman is suspicious, he speaks during the first show some fellow by name and asks them why they donate money, even though they are unemployed and in debt.

Braverman flirts with Larson. When he openly accuses the healer fraud, the angry Larson told him about the childhood of Nightengale. His mother took him as a small child in a supermarket and left him there.

Someday Boyd, the handicapped brother the waitress Marva, healed. Boyd wants to pull the troops by the United States. Nightengale agrees to the license, but asks Marva that they should put off her brother. He leaves his troop and goes hitchhiking to Florida.
