Ledebouria luteola

Ledebouria is a plant genus of the family of asparagus plants ( Asparagaceae ). The botanical name of the genus honors the German botanist Carl Friedrich von Ledebour.

Description

The species of the genus Ledebouria are single or budding and then group-forming perennial geophytes, the onions have slightly fleshy bulb scales. The flowering time existing, variable leaves are spread out and spotted a rule.

On rispigen, ascending inflorescence are small thread-like, flower-bearing bracts. The six spreading to recurved, papillaten tepals are fused together at their base. The six stamens are free, their filaments terete and the moving dust bag intrors. The pedunculated, cone-shaped ovary is notched at its base. The stylus is terete, the stigma capitate.

Fruits are triangular, obovate lokulizide capsule. It operates contain egg-shaped, black seeds.

Systematics and distribution

The genus is widespread in tropical Ledebouria and Southern Africa, and India.
