Lee Rich
Lee Rich ( born December 19, 1918 in Cleveland, † 24, 2012 in Los Angeles ) was an American film and television producer.
Life
After graduating from Ohio University Rich was active in the advertising industry. During World War II he served in the Navy.
Rich in 1969 was co-founder and later president of Lorimar Productions. Under his employees the television series The Waltons was produced. Another well-known series was Dallas who oversaw Lee himself as executive producer in the years 1978 to 1980. 1986 Lee left the Lorimar Productions and was the chairman of MGM / UA. In July 1988, Rich left this. With Lee Rich Productions, he founded in the same year his own company.
For the production of the series The Waltons Rich was honored in 1973 with an Emmy.
Rich was married to actress Pippa Scott and father of five children.
