Life

Leo A. payer, was born as the eldest of three sons and a daughter of the Austria -Hungarian Jews Joseph and Annie payers who immigrated in the 1890s in the United States. His father worked as a pattern designer for a tailor. Payer's own career began in New York, where he worked as a professional pianist. Until 1933, he worked for over a decade in the studio of producer Larry Darmour, where he composed music for short films by the two comedians Mickey Rooney and Charlie Chase. He then moved into music studio by Columbia Pictures, where he composed the music for films such as The Last of the Mohicans, Rodeo, you kill for gold and Batman and Robin.

Payer's widow Rose sued in 1957 several production companies and studios, including Columbia Pictures, Unity and TV station KTTV because they unlicensed music payer used in other productions, to 364,000 U.S. dollars. In 1960, she was then quite given retroactive effect and henceforth they received royalties on the works of her late husband.

Lee Zahler was married to Rose Rosenberg and had with her their son, the composer, Gordon payers. This broke a teenager 's neck during physical education classes at the Pasadena junior high school, making it to quadriplegia, a form of paralysis, suffered and his family led to financial ruin. After paying died in poverty on 21 February 1947 he was buried at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glenadel.
