Leffe

Leffe is a Belgian abbey beer of Anheuser -Busch InBev - group. It is named after a nearby abbey and is now brewed by the Brasserie St. Guibert in Dinant.

1152 founded Premonstratensian abbey Notre Dame de Leffe. In 1240 they bought a brewery and shifted them to the abbey. Already in 1466 they again lost the right to property and the brewery has now been leased. In 1990 the company was taken over by the Belgian Interbrew group, which was after the merger with the Brazilian AmBev and then the American Anheuser -Busch to the current brewery group Anheuser -Busch InBev.
