Leinøy

Leinøya is one among the Sørøyane ( " southern islands " ) owned island in Sunnmøre ( Møre og Romsdal ). The archipelago is located southwest of Ålesund and is one of Norway.

Leinøya belongs to the municipality Herøy. On the island are the villages Frøystad, leash, Bø, and Torvik. Torvik is the port of Hurtigruten. The island is connected to the neighboring islands Gurskøya, Bergsøya, Remøya, round and Nerlandsøya with bridges. The highest point of the island is 364 m high mountain Leinehornet. The island has an area of 14.4 km ². In 2001 Leinøya had 1399 inhabitants.
