Lelu is a village (Estonian küla ) in the rural community Käina ( Käina vald ). It is the second largest Estonian island of Hiiumaa ( German Dagö ).

Description

Lelu ( German Lello ) has 47 inhabitants ( 31 December 2011).

Between 1884 and 1886 occurred in the sign of Russification of Estonia some local farmers about the Russian Orthodox faith. First, the service took place at the farm belonging to Lelu Matse talu. End of the 1880s was built on the territory of the village of the Orthodox Dormition nativity church of Kuriste. It now belongs to the village area of Taterma.
