Len Blum

Solomon Leonard " Len " Blum ( born 1951 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada ) is a Canadian screenwriter, musician, yoga teacher, and columnist, who wrote several films for Ivan Reitman.

Life

Leonard Solomon Blum grew up in both Toronto and Montreal. He attended Westdale Secondary School in Hamilton, where he was not only a classmate of Daniel Goldberg, but also pursued his music and played alongside several student rock bands also in The Brass Union. From 1972 he studied at McMaster University, where he graduated in 1975 with a Bachelor in Social Sciences. Already during his studies he worked as a record producer, recording engineer, guitarist, and was active in several bands. In addition, he wrote several songs, produced music spots and wrote with Midnight Opera (1977) and After The Opera ( 1978) two plays.

This meant that Ivan Reitman, whom he had met while studying together at McMaster, attention was drawn to him and asked, with baby fat and meat balls to write his first screenplay for him. And after it was revealed how successful was his cooperation, he moved with Goldberg 1983-1986 to Los Angeles, where he kisses other movies like Heavy Metal, I think a moose and FBI Academy wrote. He then moved back to Canada and word there, with a brief stopover in Los Angeles between 1991 and 1993 again.

After working as a columnist for the The National Post Blum is a trained and Teaching since 2003 yoga teacher who operates his own yoga studio since 2005 in Montreal, where he is currently working full-time.

Blum is married to his high school sweetheart Heather Munroe - Blum since 1970. Both studied together at McMaster, where Heather 's first female Vice- Chancellor and Principle was. In addition, Len Blum is the older brother of actor and screenplay writers Jack Blum.
