Leon Wasilewski

Leon Wasilewski ( born August 24, 1870 in St. Petersburg, † December 10, 1936 in Warsaw) was a Polish politician of the Polish Socialist Party ( PPS), close associate of Józef Piłsudski, Polish Foreign Minister and father of Wanda Wasilewska.

Life

His first encounter with politics was the National League Narodowa, but already in the 1890s, he joined the PPS in Galicia. During World War II he was a member of SIIA a Polish battle Organization ( POW). After the restoration of Poland, he was on 17 November 1918 to 16 January 1919 the first Polish foreign minister in the government Jędrzej Moraczewskis. 1920 to 1921 he was a Polish ambassador to Estonia.
