Leonard Marconi

Leonard Marconi ( born October 6, 1835 in Warsaw, † April 1, 1899 in Lviv ) was a Polish sculptor of Italian descent, the son of Italian sculptor Ferrante Marconi, who lived in Poland since 1828, nephew of the Warsaw architect Enrico Marconi.

He studied at the Warsaw School of Fine Arts, 1859-1861 in the Accademia di San Luca in Rome. 1862-1873 he had a sculpture workshop in Warsaw. In 1873 he came to Lviv, where he was appointed lecturer at the Technical University.

As a sculptor he was mainly concerned with the portrait and tomb sculpture and the architectural sculpture.
