Leoš Kalvoda

Leoš Kalvoda ( born March 26, 1958 in Brno ) is a former Czech football player and current football coach.

Playing career

Kalvoda played in his youth for Babice nad Svitavou and Zbrojovka Brno. His military service, he graduated in Tábor. He then played three years for Spartak PS Přerov before he spent most of his career from 1982 to 1990 at Sigma Olomouc, for which he completed a total of 180 first division matches in which he scored 17 goals.

In 1990, the defensive player went to Austria for SV Sigleß, 1994, he returned to the Czech Republic back and ended after one season at Baník Ratíškovice his career.

Coaching career

Sigma Olomouc

Kalvoda began his coaching job as an assistant at Sigma Olomouc. From 1997 to 1999 he was head coach of the B team before he was in the 1999 /00 again assistant coach in the pros. For the season 2000/ 01 he moved to the post of head coach with the team and reached an excellent third place. After an unsuccessful start of the 2001/02 season he joined in October 2001 from his post.

MŠK Žilina

During the winter break, he took over the Slovakian club MŠK Žilina, whom he led to the championship. After a weak start and the failure to qualify for the UEFA Champions League by FC Basel he was released.

SK Hradec Králové

In early 2003 took over Kalvoda the relegation SK Hradec Králové in the Gambrinus league, but could not prevent his fall. He started the season 2003/ 04 with the aim of re-emergence, but in September 2003, the club of it isolated.

1 HFK Olomouc

In March 2004 Kalvoda coach at second division 1 HFK Olomouc, first together with Vítězslav Kolda. The coaching duo could not achieve the desired league. Kalvoda succeeded, now as solely responsible, the immediate re-emergence into the professional. The team reached the 2005/ 06 to sixth place in the 2006/07 season she played for a long time to move up to the first league and finishing third. During the winter break Kalvoda moved to league rivals FC 1 Slovácka.

1.FC Slovácka

In January 2008, Leoš Kalvoda succeeds by Pavel Malura at the 1 FC Slovácka, with the objective of bringing the then league leaders back in the Gambrinus Liga. A few months later he was released.

MFK Karviná

From the 2008/ 09 season the second division trained Kalvoda Up MFK Karviná.
