Les Bâties

Les Bâties is a commune in Haute -Saône in the Franche -Comté.

Geography

Les Bâties situated at an altitude of 222 m above sea level, 5 km south-southeast of Fresne -Saint- Mamès and about 32 km north- northwest of the city of Besançon (air line). The village is located in the southwest of the department, in Saônebecken, in the Talniederung the Jouanne between the woods of Saint- Gand in the west and the Bois de l' Abbaye in the east.

The area of ​​7.56 km ² municipal area includes a portion of the rolling countryside of south-east of the Saône. The central part of the area is crossed from south to north from the valley of the Jouanne, which provides for the drainage north to Romaine. Flanked the valley on both sides of a plateau, which is on average 240 m. Geologically it is one of the Saônebecken and is composed of Tertiary deposits. While the Talniederung and the adjacent areas are used for agriculture, the plateau is mostly covered with forest. In the East, the community site in the Bois de l' Abbaye enough, in the north in the Bois de Talmay. With 253 m find the highest mountains of Les Bâties is achieved.

History

Remains of a paved road from the Roman period have an early inspection and presumably population of the municipality towards. In the Middle Ages the area of Les Bâties belonged to the Free County of Burgundy and in the territory of the Bailliage d' amont. First mentioned, however, the place is only in the year 1614. He was then part of the Bailiwick of Gray. Together with the Franche -Comté came Les Bâties with the Peace of Nijmegen in 1678 definitively to France. Since 2007, Les Bâties is a member of the comprehensive 20 villages municipal association Communauté de communes des Monts de Gy.

Population

With 78 inhabitants ( 1 January 2011) Les Bâties one of the smallest municipalities in the department of Haute- Saône. After the population had decreased significantly in the first half of the 20th century (1886 210 people were still counted ), only relatively small fluctuations were recorded since the mid- 1970s.

Economy and infrastructure

Les Bâties was until well into the 20th century a predominantly by agriculture (crops, orchards and livestock ) and forestry embossed village. Outside of the primary sector, there are few jobs in the village. Some employed persons are also commuters who engage in the larger towns in the vicinity of their work.

The village is situated away from the larger passage axes on a secondary road that leads from Fresne -Saint- Mamès after Frasnian -le- Château. Further road links exist with Fretigney -et- Velloreille and La Vernotte.
