Leslie Deniz

Leslie Deniz ( Deniz Leslie Jean, born May 25, 1962 in Oakland ) is a retired American discus thrower.

Deniz won in 1980 at the Pan American Junior Championships. 1981 and 1983 she won the U.S. Championships and was also a student at Arizona State University NCAA champion in 1983.

Your most significant success came Deniz at the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. There she was awarded with a width of 64.86 m silver medal behind the Dutch Ria Stalman ( 65.36 m ) and before the Romanian Florenta Crăciunescu. However, lacked because of the Olympic boycott, numerous more -ranked athletes of the Soviet bloc at the competitions.

After her athletic career, she joined the police force and led among other things, the department at California State University. She currently teaches at Woodland Community College.
