Leszek Deptuła

Leszek novel Deptuła (* February 25, 1953 in Żagań in the Lubusz Voivodeship, † April 10, 2010 in Smolensk, Russia) was a Polish politician, veterinarian and member of the VI. Legislature in the Polish parliament, the Sejm.

Life

1978 ended Deptuła studying at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the " Agricultural Academy in Lublin ( Akademia Rolnicza w Lublinie ), which today calls" University of Life Sciences in Lublin ( Uniwersytet w Przyrodniczy Lublinie ). From 1978 to 2002 he worked in a veterinary clinic in the village of Wadowice Dolne in powiat Mielecki in the Carpathian foothills. From 2002 to 2006 Deptuła exercised the function as Woiwodschaftsmarschall of the Subcarpathian Voivodeship. Then he had until 2007 a ​​seat in the local regional Parliament, the Woiwodschaftssejmik. He was also Vice Chairman of the Municipal Council in the rural community of Wadowice Górne.

In the Polish parliamentary elections in 2007, he won a seat as a deputy of the Polish Peasant Party ( Polskie Stronnictwo Ludowe, PSL), where he received 6688 votes in the electoral district of Rzeszów. In 2009, he ran unsuccessfully for the European elections in Poland.

Over several years Deptuła worked only in the professional organization as a member of the small Polish self-government, and then in Veterinary Medical Association. He had a seat in the " vets Regional Court " ( Krajowy Sąd Lekarsko - Weterynaryjny ) in Warsaw.

On April 10, 2010 Deptuła belonged to a Polish delegation headed by President Lech Kaczyński, who was to travel on the occasion of the seventieth anniversary of the Katyn massacre to the memorial to Russia. However, in a plane crash of the delegation near the military airfield Smolensk - North he came together with other high-ranking representatives of Poland died.

Deptuła was married and had two children. Posthumously, he was on 16 April 2010 the Commander's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta ( Krzyż Komandorski Orderu Odrodzenia Polski ) awarded.
