Letham (Angus)

Letham is a village in Scotland, in the traditional county of Angus, today the unitary authority of the same name.

Letham is the largest city of Angus and is 17 miles from Dundee, 5 miles from Forfar, 10 miles from Arbroath and also 10 miles from Carnoustie away. The city has a well-functioning local supply system and is surrounded by hiking trails that are maintained by volunteers.

Celebrations and landmarks

Every year in July there is the well-known throughout the county Victoria market. During the market day, the main street is closed to traffic and populated by stalls and their visitors. The stall holders and sellers bear Victorian costumes and offer antiques and rustic dishes.

In March and December artisans meet in Letham from across Scotland at a fair, where they exhibit their wares. Best quality is required in order to participate in it may. All of these events, as well as the Christmas decorations and Christmas carols, are organized by clubs under the direction of Feuars Committee, the oldest civic association in the city.

Outside of the city towards Dunnichen is the Girdlestane, a prehistoric cup-and -ring stone. From it you have a good view of the Dunnichen Hill, where should have taken place at Mere Dunnichen the battle on 20 May 685.
