Lev Leviev
Lew Awnerowitsch Lewiew ( born July 30, 1956 in Tashkent, Soviet Union) is a book- Aryan Jew, billionaire, industrialist and philanthropist. He holds shares in the company in the diamond, real estate and chemical industries and is involved in the construction of Israeli settlements in the West Bank. With a personal fortune, the only U.S. dollar amounts in late 2009 after huge losses 1.5 billion, he is one of the richest Israelis.
Had to answer for his involvement in the diamond mining in Angola which human rights violations, working with DeBeers during apartheid and to their financial involvement in the controversial Israeli settlements were and are the target of protests. Life
Lewiews parents Rabbi Avner and Chana wife were members of the Bukharan Jewish community in the Uzbek SSR. 1971 the family emigrated to Israel, where the son, without ever having earned a college degree, in a diamond-cutting, the cutting and polishing techniques learned. It holds interests in shopping centers, power industry, textile industry, the telecommunications and media sector, owns diamond mines in Russia and Africa and is the main competitor of the diamond cartel De Beers. With diamonds worth 522 million U.S. dollars Lewiew 2007, the largest exporter of Israel was in this sector.
