Levisa Fork

The Levisa Fork is the 225 km long left source river of the Big Sandy River in southwestern Virginia and eastern Kentucky.

The Levisa Fork River rises in the Appalachian Mountains in the east of Buchanan County near Grundy in the U.S. state of Virginia. Then it flows through the Pike County (Kentucky), takes on the Russell Fork River and flows into the reservoir Fishtrap Lake. He leaves the reservoir at the other end and flows through the cities of Pikeville and Prestonsburg. Finally, it forms in Louisa on 166 m height along with the Tug Fork of the Big Sandy River.
