Buchanan County is a county located in the state of Virginia in the United States. In the 2000 census, the county had 26 978 inhabitants and a population density of 21 inhabitants per square kilometer. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Grundy. The county is one of the Dry counties, which means that the sale of alcohol is restricted or prohibited.

Geography

Buchanan County is located almost in the far west of Virginia, is bordered on the north by West Virginia, on the west by Kentucky and has an area of ​​1305 square kilometers without significant water surface.
