Henrico County, Virginia
Henrico County is a county located in the state of Virginia in the United States. In the 2000 census, the county had 262 300 inhabitants and a population density of 425 inhabitants per square kilometer.
Henrico County is located in the Richmond -Petersburg region in eastern Virginia. District capital ( County Seat) is the city of Richmond, but which do not belong to the County. The county has an area of 634 square kilometers, of which 17 square kilometers are water surface.
According to the census of 2000, there were 262 300 people in Henrico County. Of these, 3,812 people lived in collective centers, the other inhabitants living in 108 121 households and 69 846 families. The population density was 425 people per square kilometer. The racial the population was made up of 68.91 percent White, 24.71 percent Black or African American, 0.35 percent Native American, 3.60 percent Asian, 0.03 percent of residents from the Pacific Islander and 0.98 percent from other races groups; 1.42 percent were descended from two or more races. 2.27 percent of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
Of the 108 121 households out of which 31.9 percent have children under the age of 18 living with them. 48.3 percent were married couples living together, 13.1 percent were single mothers, 35.4 percent were non-families, 28.9 percent of all households and 8.5 percent had someone living alone at the age of 65 years or older. The average household size was 2.39 and the average family size was 2.97.
Based on the county the population was spread from 24.7 percent population under 18 years, 7.8 percent between 18 and 24 years, 32.9 percent between 25 and 44 years, 22.2 percent between 45 and 64 years and 12.4 percent were 65 years old or older. The average age was 36 years. For every 100 females there were 88.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 83.6 men statistically.
The median income for a household was $ 49,185, and the median income for a family was $ 59,298. Males have a median income of $ 40,203, women $ 29,795. The per capita income was $ 26,410. 4.5 percent of families and 6.2 percent of the population lived below the poverty line. Among them were 8.1 percent of children and adolescents under the age of 18 and 4.5 percent of the population aged 65 years.

In Henrico County, there is no self-managed communities such as Towns. After the Statute Law of Virginia start-ups are not possible because the county has a population density of over 200 inhabitants per square mile. The United States Census Bureau for statistical purposes leads 13 villages as census-designated place.
