King and Queen County is a county located in the state of Virginia in the United States. In 2000, the County had 6630 inhabitants and a population density of 8 persons per square kilometer. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is King and Queen Court House.
King and Queen County is located in northeastern Virginia on the middle peninsula, bordered by the Atlantic Ocean, and has an area of 845 square kilometers, of which 26 square kilometers are water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Essex County, Middlesex County, Gloucester County, James City County, New Kent County, King William County and Caroline County.
According to the census in 2000, lived in King and Queen County, 6,630 people in 2,673 households and 1,897 families. The population density was 8 people per square kilometer. The racial the population was made up of 61.22 percent White, 35.67 percent Black or African American, 1.42 percent Native American, 0.27 percent Asian, 0.02 percent of residents from the Pacific Islander, and 0.15 percent from other races groups; 1.25 percent were descended from two or more races. 0.87 percent of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
