Prince George County is a county located in the U.S. state of Virginia in the United States. In 2000, the County had 33 047 inhabitants and a population density of 48 inhabitants per square kilometer. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Prince George.
Prince George County is located in east-central Virginia and has an area of 730 square kilometers, of which 42 square kilometers are water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Charles City County, Surry County, Sussex County, Dinwiddie County and Chesterfield County.

According to the census of 2000, there were 33 047 people in Prince George County. Of these, 4,968 people lived in collective centers, the other inhabitants lived in 10,159 households and 8,096 families. The population density was 48 people per square kilometer. The racial the population was made up of 60.93 percent White, 32.54 percent Black or African American, 0.42 percent Native American, 1.73 percent Asian, 0.15 percent of residents from the Pacific Islander and 2.19 percent from other races groups; 2.03 percent were descended from two or more races. 4.92 percent of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
Of the 10,159 households out of which 41.9 percent have children under the age of 18 living with them. 63.5 percent were married couples living together, 12.2 percent were single mothers, 20.3 percent were non-families, 17.2 percent of all households and 5.8 percent had someone living alone at the age of 65 years or older. The average household size was 2.76 and the average family size was 3.11.
Based on the county the population was spread from 25.1 percent population under 18 years, 13.6 percent between 18 and 24 years, 33.3 percent between 25 and 44 years, 20.8 percent between 45 and 64 years and 7.3 percent were 65 years old or older. The average age was 32 years. For every 100 females there were 117.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were statistically 120.9 males.
The median income for a household was $ 49,877, and the median income for a family was $ 53,750. Males have a median income of $ 37,363, women $ 26,347. The per capita income was $ 20,196. 6.5 percent of families and 8.0 percent of the population lived below the poverty line. Of these, 11.4 percent were children or adolescents under 18 years old and 8.3 percent are 65 years old.
