Richmond County (Virginia)

Richmond County is a county located in the state of Virginia in the United States. In 2000, the County had 8809 inhabitants and a population density of 18 inhabitants per square kilometer. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Warsaw.

Geography

Richmond County is located in northeastern Virginia, is about 30 km from Maryland and has an area of 560 square kilometers, of which 65 square kilometers are water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Westmoreland County, Northumberland County, Lancaster County and Essex County.

History

Made it in 1692 from parts of the (old ) Rappahannock County.
