Lezhë District

The circuit Lezha (Albanian: Rrethi i Lezhës ) is one of the 36 administrative districts of Albania. It is named after the main town of Lezha and belongs to Qark Lezha. The county has an area of 473 km ² and 65,633 inhabitants ( 2011 census ). Local authorities say a number of 99 843 inhabitants (2007 ). Around three quarters of the inhabitants profess Catholicism.

Geography

The circuit Lezha is situated in the northwestern region of Albania on the coast of the Adriatic Sea and in the eastern foothills of the mountains of Mirdita.
