Li Hongzhong

Li Hongzhong (Chinese李鸿忠; * 1956 in Changle, Shandong Province) is a politician in the People's Republic of China. He is since 2008 the Governor of Hubei Province.

Li joined the Chinese Communist Party in 1976 and received his PhD in the department of history at the University in Jilin. He began his career in the municipality of Shenyang. Then he moved to Huizhou, where he was appointed mayor Vice Mayor and later. Later he took over in Shenzhen, the Office of the Bürgmeisters. He also held senior positions in the party held: as secretary of the Shenzhen Association Party and a deputy member of the 16th Communist Party Congress. Currently, Li is deputy member of the 17th Congress.
