Liam O'Brien (screenwriter)

Liam O'Brien ( born March 7, 1913 in New York City; † 24 March 1996 in Los Angeles, California ) was an American screenwriter and television producer.

Life

O'Brien began his career as a screenwriter in the early 1950s. He completed previously at Fordham University and the Manhattan College His academic training. During World War II he served in the United States Army Signal Corps. He wrote several plays, including the template for the film The honorable bigamist, with which he could achieve success on Broadway. In the 1970s, O'Brien turned to the TV and was involved in series such as Hawaii Five-O, and later Miami Vice as a screenwriter and producer.

He was nominated along with Robert Riskin wrote the screenplay for wedding parade at the Academy Awards in 1952 for an award in the category of Best Original Story.

For its participation in the TV series Police Story - Always on O'Brien awarded in 1976 along with the rest of the production team an Emmy. In 1985 he was nominated for an Emmy for the Miami Vice series

O'Brien died as a result of a heart attack. He was survived by his wife and a common child. A common son died in 1981. His brother Edmond O'Brien, an oscar award winning actor, died in 1985.
