Lianne La Havas

Lianne La Havas ( born August 23, 1989 in London, England) is an English folk and soul singer, songwriter, guitarist and pianist.

Biography

The daughter of a Jamaican and a Greek father was born in London. Her musical heroes include Lauryn Hill, Jill Scott and Mary J. Blige. Early on she learned to play the piano, wrote her first song at age eleven, but only started with 18 to play the guitar. Since 2009, she pursued a career as a musician.

As a background singer Paloma Faith, she accompanied on tour. First band experience she gained in the short-lived project "The Paris Parade" with Christian Pinchbeck. In 2010 she received a training contract with the major label Warner and artist agency CAA. Lianne La Havas in 2011 attracted by two appearances on the Internet attention: in the "Black Cab Sessions" and in the " Take Away Show" French " Blogothèque ".

In October 2011, she was wearing in the BBC TV show Later with Jools Holland in front of three of their songs. In the same show, the band Bon Iver occurred committed Lianne La Havas for the their North American tour in December 2011. In July 2012, appeared to her debut album Is Your Love Big Enough? , Which was nominated for the Mercury Music Prize and awarded as " iTunes Album of the Year". The album peaked in the UK charts 4th place, 3rd place in the Netherlands
