Libertad is a town in Uruguay.

Geography

Libertad is located on the territory of the department of San José in its sector 6 in the Cuchilla Mangrullo. Settlements in the area are in the northwest of Punta de Valdez and Barrio Cololó - Timosa, a few kilometers south-west distance of the Río de la Plata - coastal town kiyu - Ordeig and southeast Cerámicas del Sur and Playa Pascal. On the north- western outskirts of the Libertad Arroyo Chico Valdez, a right-side tributary of the Arroyo Valdez springs.

The population of Libertad is 10,166 (as of 2011), of which 4,856 male and 5,310 female.
