Lidia Geringer de Oedenberg

Lidia Joanna Geringer de Oedenberg, born Ulatowska ( born September 12, 1957 in Breslau ) is a Polish politician and since 2004 Member of the European Parliament.

Biography

She studied at the University of Economics in Wroclaw and at the Warsaw School of Economics, also in Spain and Holland. She worked as a journalist with Polish State television, including as program director of the Breslau broadcaster. 1995-2005 she was Director General of the international music festivals in Breslau Wratislavia Cantans.

2004 and 2009 she was chosen by the the Federal Democratic Left List ( Sojusz Lewicy Demokratycznej, SLD) to the European Parliament.

On 15 July 2009 she was elected in the first ballot for Quaestors of Parliament.

Activities as an MEP

Geringer de Oedenberg is a member of the Bureau of the European Parliament, Committee on Legal Affairs, the Committee on Petitions and the delegation for relations with the countries of South Asia. Deputy it is the Budget Committee, the Delegation to the EU-Croatia Joint Parliamentary Committee, the Delegation to the ACP -EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly and the delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union for the Mediterranean.
