Līga Liepiņa

Līga Liepiņa ( born August 1, 1946 in Naukseni, Latvian SSR ) is a Soviet and Latvian theater and film actress.

Life

Līga Liepiņas father was a forestry worker, her mother a kindergarten teacher. Liepiņa graduated in 1964 from high school Mazsalaca from. Then she attended until 1970 the State acting school and until 1974 the theater faculty of the Latvian Conservatory of Jazeps Vītols in Riga. 1971-1976 Liepiņa was engaged at the State Youth Theatre of the Latvian SSR, from 1977 at the Latvian National Theatre, which was called the State Drama Theater of the Latvian SSR at that time.

Her film debut was in the film Liepiņa 1967 dziļi Elpojiet! ( "Breathe deeper! " ) - Second title Četri balti Krekli ( "Four white shirts " ) with music by Imants Kalnins. With Paul Butkevics she sang the duet Vini dejoja vienu vasaru. This film was initially banned in the Soviet Union and was shown publicly only in the late 1980s. Popularity brought Liepiņa then in 1969 the role of Emma in the film Pie bagātās kundzes the director Leonīds Leimanis. Many more roles followed.

In addition Līga Liepiņa stood on stage regularly. She is an actress at the Latvian National Theatre in Riga.

Līga Liepiņa is married to the director, playwright and member of parliament Paul Putniņš. Their daughter Anna Putnina (* 1971) is also an actress.
