Lila Kedrova
Lilja Kedrowa (Russian Лиля Кедрова, English transliteration Purple Kedrova, . Born October 9, 1918 in Petrograd. † February 16, 2000 in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario) was a Russian actress.
Lilja Kedrowa received the 1965 Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for the role of Madame Hortense in Zorba and 1984 for the same role on Broadway the Tony Award. Recalling also its Countess Kuchinska remains Torn Curtain in Alfred Hitchcock.
In the London production of the musical Cabaret she appeared as Miss Schneider.
She was married to Richard Howard since 16 February 1968.
In 2000 Lila Kedrova died in her summer home in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada, from pneumonia, after a long battle with Alzheimer 's disease.
