Lily Weiding

Lily Weiding ( born October 22, 1924 in Copenhagen) is a Danish film and theater actress.

Career

Weiding received early for their school ballet classes. In 1942, she debuted as a 17 -year-old in Frederiksberg on Frederiksberg Teater ( Camp X Aveny ) as Emily in the play Before By. From 1943 to 1945, she was trained at Det kongelige Teaters elevskole ( School of the Royal Theatre ) and then worked for several years at this theater.

From 1958 to 1966 she took part in several engagements at Riddersalen Theatre and Det kongelige Teaters, where she appeared in several successful performances. Furthermore Lily Weiding appeared in several leading roles at Odense Teater, Teater Husets, Bristol Music Center and Betty Nansen Teatret Teater. A major success as a theater actress, she had been nominated in the Drama Theatre American Buffalo, which premiered on 23 November 1975 at the Goodman Theatre in Chicago and was awarded the New York Drama Critics ' Circle, and for other other awards. Furthermore Weiding played as an actress in many Danish film and television productions.

Family

She is the daughter of the Danish bassist Paul Weiding and his wife Marie F. Gaarsdal. In 1945, she married actor Sigfred Johansen ( 1908-1953 ). After his death she married actor Mogens Wieth (1919-1962), with whom she has two daughters together, Xenia Wieth and the Danish actress Julie Wieth. Since 1965, Lily Weiding is married to actor Morten Grunwald, their daughter Tanya Grunwald is also an actress.
