Linda Harrison (actress)

Linda Harrison ( born July 24, 1945 in Berlin, the U.S. state of Maryland) is an American film actress and fashion model.

Linda was elected at the age of 16 years as "Miss Berlin" and could soon be working on in New York's Garment Center as a model. Homesickness was the reason for their return to Berlin, where she won the national beauty contest. In the finale to the " Miss International ", which took place in Long Beach, California, she was discovered by talent scout Mike Medavoy and presented soon after, the 20th Century Fox.

First, followed by small roles in low-budget productions, before she succeeded in 1968 by Franklin J. Schaffner's breakthrough in the science fiction film Planet of the Apes. The role of the silent woman she played Nova in the sequel to Beneath the Planet of the Apes, which was produced in 1970.

Through her work at Fox, she met the film producer Richard D. Zanuck, whom she married in 1968. The marriage, however, was divorced after 10 years. They have two sons.

Despite the divorce, Linda was able to participate in Zanuck films. The best known were Cocoon (1985 ), the sequel to Cocoon II - The Return (1988) and the remake of Planet of the Apes ( 2001). In the film, she and Charlton Heston were the only two actors who had already taken part in the movie of 1968.

Today, Linda Harrison lives a secluded life in the USA.
