Lindsey Hunter

Lindsey Benson Hunter, Jr. ( born December 3, 1970 in Utica, Mississippi) is a former American basketball player and current coach. He has twice won the NBA championship.

High School-/Collegekarriere

Hunter played for the team of Murrah High School in Jackson and the Tigers basketball team of Jackson State University.

National Basketball Association

Hunter was in the 1993 NBA Draft selected by the Detroit Pistons as 10th pick and spent the greater part of his career in Detroit. In his first season there, Hunter was appointed to the NBA All- Rookie Second Team.

After seven years with the Pistons, he went in 2000 in exchange for Billy Owens to the Milwaukee Bucks, where he played only one season, however, before he moved to Los Angeles to the Lakers in 2001. With the Lakers won the 2002 Hunter his first NBA title, but went after the season to the Toronto Raptors. In 2003, he signed back with the Pistons and was traded in February 2004 to the Boston Celtics, for which he, however, denied not a game. After ten days, Hunter was again obliged to Detroit and won with the team in the season 2003/ 04 his second NBA championship.

On 13 November 2008 Hunter signed a contract with the Chicago Bulls, which guarantees him a minimum salary for players with at least ten years of NBA experience.

After his career end Hunter moved in 2012 into the expanded coaching staff of the Phoenix Suns. There he was responsible for the scouting of new players and was responsible for the individual training of the players. In January 2013 were Hunter interim head coach of the Suns, after the club from the previous Head Coach Alvin Gentry had separated.
