Lindy Hemming
Linda " Lindy " Hemming ( born August 21, 1948) is a Welsh costume designer. It was in 2000 for her work in Topsy Turvy - - Upside won an Oscar.
Life
Hemming studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. She was initially responsible for the costume design at various theaters including the Royal Shakespeare Company and the Royal National Theatre.
In addition to working for a number of British films she has been to blame for numerous Hollywood productions for the costume design since the mid 1990s. Among the best known films in which Hemming was involved, includes parts of the film series James Bond, Tomb Raider and Harry Potter. Also at the three Batman works by director Christopher Nolan, she was involved. 2003 Hemming sat on the jury of the British Independent Film Awards.
2000 won for Topsy - Turvy Hemming - Upside Down an Oscar for Best Costume Design. In 2008, she was honored for her work in The Dark Knight at the Costume Designers Guild Awards in the Best Costume Design category in a fantasy film. Previously Hemming has been nominated for The Dark Knight and Casino Royale. At the British Academy Film Awards 2009, she was also nominated for The Dark Knight for Best Costumes.
