The linker head with 2,459 m the highest mountain grass of the Allgäu Alps. He seems to form the conclusion of the Birgsauer valley and in winter due to its huge, smooth snow slope especially appealing image. He is one of the richest botanical mountains of the eastern Alps. The glacier crowfoot is found in the Bavarian Alps, on the linker head. The linker head is easily accessible from any side. On it leads no marked path.

Ski touring
Under ski mountaineers, the linker head is regarded as one of the most difficult targets in the Allgäu. The descent is steep over long distances up to 45 degrees and only when absolutely safe snow conditions and stable good weather feasible.
