Lipová-lázně

Lipová- Lázně ( German Bad Lindewiese ) is a municipality in Okres Jeseník ( German Freiwaldau ) in the Czech Republic. She is a cold-water resort and lies in the valley of the Staříč ( Staritz ) between the rich and the Steiner Altvatergebirge.

History

Under the Breslau Bishop Thomas I. the areas were reclaimed around the Altvatergebirge 1232-1268. For this project he brought settlers from Thuringia and Franconia. In a document of the year 1257, the. Bishop Thomas I. and Duke Henry III was signed, Lindewiese and 28 other places of the district Freiwaldau is named. Probably these settlements existed long before. In a later deed 40 Bauer points are listed by name, who had the bishop to pay a tithe. The Land Registry Freiwaldau 57 agricultural settlements registered in 1547.

Lindewiese became known as a health resort, for here Johann Schroth developed in the 19th century and the cold-water treatment methods. Bad Lindewiese and the neighboring Graefenberg, inextricably linked to the founder of modern cold-water cure Vincent Prießnitz, were among the most famous health resorts of the Habsburg monarchy. On 1 December 1930, the municipality of Lower Lindewiese 3470 inhabitants, on May 17, 1939 and 3290 on May 22, 1947 2046 residents. After the Second World War, the Germans were expropriated in 1945 and sold. Then there was a decline of the spa industry. Since the political changes of 1989 Lipová- Lázně is transformed again into a modern spa.

The town lies on the railway line connecting Jesenik Hanušovice, which was formerly known as Silesian Semmering because of their alignment.

Lipová- Lázně is an elongated site, located in the districts Bobrovník ( Bieber pond ), Dolni Lipová (low Lindewiese ), Lipová- Lázně ( Bad Lindewiese ) and Horni Lipová (Upper Lindewiese ) is divided.

Upper Lindewiese had on December 1, 1930 in 1544, on May 17, 1939 and 1430 on May 22, 1947 547 inhabitants.

Geology

Above Lipová- Lázně there is a rock deposits of light gray to dark gray marble, sometimes with a bluish color trend that has great notoriety. At times the Lindewiese marble was won by the traditional company W. Thust. Due to its very good resistance to weathering it is a nachgefragtes for grave times material to this day. The deposit is part of the Brannáer group in Moravo - Silesikum.
