Lipowo, Olsztyn County

Lipowo ( German Lipowo, 1933-1945 Lindenhorst ) is a village in the Polish Warmian -Masurian and belongs to the urban and rural community Biskupiec ( Bishop's Castle ) in powiat Olsztyn ( Olsztyn district ).

Geographical location

Lipowo located 23 kilometers southwest of the former county town Reszel ( Rößel ) and 37 kilometers northeast of the present Powiathauptstadt Olsztyn ( Olsztyn ). Through the town performs a secondary road that connects the province road 590 ( former German Empire Road 141) east of Biskupiec ( Bishop's Castle ) with Stanclewo ( Stanislewo, 1931-1945 Sternsee ). A rail connection does not exist.

History

The village formerly and now again called Lipowo existed before 1945 from an estate, a brick factory and a forester. In 1785 it was a place with four fireplaces. On 9 July 1874, the village was at the newly established District surprise (now Polish: Rasząg ) incorporated, which (as of 1905 the administrative district of Olsztyn ) of the Prussian province of East Prussia was part of the circle Rößel in the district of Königsberg. On December 1, 1910 30 residents were registered in Lipowo.

On October 17, 1928 Lipowo was with the neighboring United Parleese (now Polish: Parleza Wielka ) from the district office surprise in the municipality of Bishop's Castle (now Polish: Biskupiec ) reclassified. On February 3, 1933 Lipowo was renamed " Linde 's Nest".

In consequence of the war Lindenhorst 1945, with the southern East Prussia to Poland and got the old place name " Lipowo " back. " Moved " the village of the circle Rößel in the powiat Olsztyński ( circle Olsztyn ) and now belongs to the city and rural municipality ( gmina ) Biskupiec in the Warmia and Mazury.

The population Lipowos respectively. Horst Linde was before 1945 a majority Protestant denomination. The village was in the parish of Bishop's Castle ( Biskupiec ) in the Diocese of Olsztyn in the parish of Warmia the parish church within the province of East Prussia the Church of the Old Prussian Union. Still today, the evangelical church members Lipowos to church Biskupiec, now a branch of the parish community Sorkwity ( Sorquitten ) in the Diocese of Masuria the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland.

Catholic

As before 1945, is now, include the catholic church members to the parish of St. John the Baptist in Biskupiec, capital of the deanery Biskuppiec Reszelski, in the archdiocese of Warmia of the Catholic Church in Poland.
