Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam

Lisa Lisa (born 15 January 1967; actually Lisa Velez ) and her band Cult Jam are an American Pop, Freestyle and Contemporary R & B band and also one of the first freestyle bands of the 1980s.

History

Lisa Velez is Puerto Rican descent and grew up in New York City, but attended North Miami Senior High School in North Miami Beach, Florida. The band Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam was created by the music production team Full Force and produced, then they signed a recording contract with Columbia Records. In 1985 their album Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam with Full Force, the one with the extractions I Wonder If I Take You Home, Can You Feel the Beat and All Cried Out was a small commercial success. The latter song gave the band in the United States the national breakthrough.

A major sales success gave the band the 1987 album Spanish Fly, the songs Head to Toe and Lost in Emotion managed to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, while the song Someone to Love Me for Me the hit series could not connect. The following singles Everything Will B- Fine and Go for Yours ( soundtrack to the movie Caddyshack II) found in the U.S. R & B and dance charts their attention.

Your 1989 released album Straight to the Sky could not continue the high-flying, although Little Jackie Wants to Be a Star was a moderate chart success, but the songs Just Git It Together and Kiss Your Tears Away found in the U.S. R & B and dance charts little support.

Her fourth studio album Straight Outta Hell's Kitchen was largely due to expectations of success as the extractions Let the Beat Hit 'Em, Let the Beat Hit' Em (Part 2) and Where Were You When I Needed You. While the failures to Velez tried as an actress, while Moseley and Hughes were dedicated to other projects.

Due to the failures of the band joined the label Mass Appeal Entertainment, which them with the albums LL77 (1994) and Life 'n Love (2009) could provide a single comeback.
