List of airports in the Maldives

The list of airports in the Maldives contains international and regional airports and airfields in the Maldives.

The history of aviation is sufficient in the Maldives back to the Second World War, when the British on the naval base Gan a makeshift runway built, which was later acquired and expanded by the Royal Air Force. The first controlled by the Maldivian government airport was built in 1960 on the island Hulhulé near Malé. In the late 1980s and early 1990s, three small domestic airports were built to open up remote atolls. The Malé airport was officially named after the President Ibrahim Nasir, 2011.
